Canon EF 70-200mm F/2.8L IS USM

Compare the two following pictures, using the same Canon 300D.

Canon EF 100-300mmF/4.5-5.6 USM
Taken with Canon EF 100-300mm F/4.5-5.6 USM.

Canon EF 70-200mm F/2.8L IS
Taken with Canon EF 70-200mm F/2.8L IS USM.

The equipment is working hard to make the photographer look good in the second picture. I picked up the first len at Pro Gear second-hand after taking these shots. The L-series lens is definitely on my wishlist, but at six times the price it’ll have to wait.

I you are willing to invest in a 70-200/2.8L I suggest you take you digital camera down to the store and try the various lens. Go home and compare. For instance I got a Tamron SP 28-75mm F/2.8 XR, because I from the image quality quality to very good compared to the similar canon. The price was certainly very good.

However, the 70-200mm f/2.8L is definitely a very nice lens.
