Go home and compare. For instance I got a Tamron SP 28-75mm F/2.8 XR, because I from the image quality quality to very good compared to the similar canon. The price was certainly very good. However, the 70-200mm f/2.8L is definitely a very nice lens. I you are willing to invest in a 70-200/2.8L I suggest you take you digital camera down to the store and try the various lens.
