I’ve been thinking about putting together a basic documentation management system with python and subversion. Some python and cron to manage business documents stored in samba/nfs file shares, auto-injecting them into a subversion repository.
This article by the CVS homedir author about Subversion homedir has some useful tips about svn:externals.
Just installed IlohaMail with apt-get. Very simple to get going. Quick change to the Apache config to match my setup and its away.
Very fast and definitely 100x easier to install than SquirrelMail.
Recent I was asked about copying all the passwords automatically in firefox. Unfortunately I didn’t have an answer. Today I noticed this project, FireFox Save/Restore.
It says it about itself:
This is a simple program to save and restore, bookmarks, passwords, cookies and ad blocking information. The program is limited to backing up only one profile. I created this program to fill the gap left by MozBackup, since it was created just for Windows users. I also created it to provide an open version. (Uses: wxPython 2.5.3.1)
There might be some options to parse the backup, insert the password information from galeon and re-insert the information back into firefox. Exercise left for the reader.

Nice detailed howto for installing a non-intrusive X.org server on Debian into /usr/local/. This guy has a nice screenshot of window shading and transparency with X.org on a Sarge system.
